DIABETES AWARENESS

LEVEL 2/3 AWARD IN AWARENESS OF DIABETES

As diabetes is on the increase, even more of us are coming into contact with people who have the condition. This course will give attendees knowledge and confidence when working with people with diabetes. The unit will enable learners to explore what diabetes is, the different types of diabetes and how a person centred approach may support an individual to manage diabetes. It is suitable for those working within the health and social care sector, individuals who may be affected by diabetes, and for anyone with a general interest in the subject.

Depending on the level you study, you'll cover things like:

  • Complications with Diabetes

  • Risk Factors and Implications

  • Nutrition and Dietry Requirements

  • Types of Diabetes

  • Implement Person Centred Approach

  • Monotoring Diabetes

  • Links with other Conditions

WHICH LEVEL IS RIGHT FOR ME?

Level 2 - You have very little knowledge of diabetes and/or diabetes care.

Level 3 - You have basic knowledge of diabetes and/or dibetes care and want to progress further and increase your knowledge and skills.
